“I'm interested in seeing more women involved in the political process,” the banker said.  For instance?  “Florida hasn't had a woman governor.”  Those comments were published exactly 11 years ago this June 1 in Florida Trend magazine.  They were prescient, although the banker may not have known it at the time.

She does now.  Alex Sink was then president of NationsBank Florida, the state's largest.  It had just bought up BankAmerica Corporation.  The following year it would change its own name to Bank of America.  Today, Sink is Florida's Chief Financial Officer and the presumptive Democratic nominee for governor of Florida[...]
