Event Description:

 

The Featured Speaker for the Flagler College Forum on Government and Public Policy will be Steven Thomma, Senior White House Correspondent, McClatchy Newspapers.

Steven Thomma covers the White House. In 1987, he joined what was then the Knight-Ridder Washington bureau as a regional reporter for the St. Paul Pioneer Press and became the bureau's National Political Correspondent in 1994. He was assigned to cover the White House for the first time in 1997 and was named Chief Political Correspondent in 2001.He assumed his current White House duties in November 2008.

He received the Aldo Beckman Award for distinguished White House coverage for his campaign work in 2000, and the National Press Club's award for best regional reporting in 1994. Before coming to Washington, he worked for the Pioneer Press in Minnesota, the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette in Indiana and City News Bureau in Chicago.

First Friday Art Walk features Artist Ellen Diamond

Event Description:

 

Ponte Vedra artist Ellen Diamond will be featured during the  First Friday Art Walk at the St. Johns County Democratic Headquarters, 142-B King Street, on February 5th from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.  The  Ponte Vedra Democratic Club is hosting this month's gathering.

Diamond is an internationally recognized contemporary impressionist whose works are in numerous corporate and private collections.  A major new painting of the Bridge of Lions will be on display that evening as part of her exhibition of oils and acrylics.
The public is invited to attend and refreshments will be served.

The Northwest Democratic Club will be hosting a "Meet Your Democratic Neighbor" Gathering at the Cimarrone Country Club on Wednesday, February 10th, 2010 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This is an informal and free event at which we will mingle, have light refreshments and meet local and state Democratic candidates.
