Calling All Democrats!
Do you want to become a Delegate to the 2019 Florida Democratic Party State Convention?
Every two years, during the odd-numbered years and when General Elections are not held, the Florida Democratic Party holds their convention in October. This year the convention will be held at the Disney Coronado Resort the weekend of October 11-13.
There is an election process to become a delegate to the convention. You can read information about how to become a delegate on the FDP website here. And on this website you can also sign up to receive convention updates.
In order to become a delegate to the FDP convention, it is necessary to be a registered Democrat and to fill in a delegate form. It is a fill-able pdf, so you can type in all the information, however, you will want to print out the form as you may not be able to save the form after you have filled it in. It is also necessary to sign the Loyalty Oath to the party. Once you have printed and signed the form, it should be returned to the Democratic Office, along with a check for the registration fee of $45, payable to the DEC. The registration fee for students is $25. All forms should be returned to the office before Thursday, August 29, 2019.
The delegate filing forms will be sent to the FDP by the local party and need to be received by the Florida Democratic Party no later than September 6. If prior to our sending the delegate forms to the FDP you find you are unable to attend, your check will be returned to you. Otherwise, the registration fee cannot be refunded.
