Adjustment & Appeals Board
Purpose: To hear requests for code interpretation and cases for Unsafe Building Abatement Codes.
Affordable Housing Advisory Committee
Purpose: Review established policies and procedures, ordinances, land development regulations and adopted local government comprehensive plan to recommend specific action or initiatives to encourage or facilitate affordable housing while protecting the ability of the property to appreciate in value.
Architectural Review Committee
Purpose: The ARC is charged with determining compliance with the Development Standards & Criteria of Section VIII.Q.5.d Architectural Design Standards and Section VIII.Q.5.e, Design Elements & Materials Ensure enhanced property development while maintaining and encouraging quality character of design within the Ponte Vedra and Ponte Vedra/Palm Valley Overlay Districts in line with the goals and objectives of the St. Johns County Comprehensive Plan.
Arts, Culture & Heritage Funding Panel
Purpose: The Funding Panel is an advisory committee to the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners. Its charge is to evaluate and rank funding application in accordance with the approved funding guideline as enumerated by the mission and goals established by the Tourist Development Council and in accordance with Chapter 125.0104, Florida Statues.
Contractors Review Board
Purpose: Ensure proper administration of contractor licensing and discipline of licensees.
Cultural Resource Review Board
Purpose: Advise the Board of County Commissioners regarding cultural, architectural, archaeological and historical resources of St. Johns County; and to identify, evaluate, document, designate and protect these resources.
Educational Facilities Authority
Purpose: This Authority assists institutions for higher education in the construction, financing, and refinancing of projects.
Fire Code Board of Appeals
Purpose: The purpose of the board of appeals is to establish within jurisdiction for the purpose of hearing applications for modification of the requirements of the International fire Code pursuant to the provision of Section 108 of the International Fire Code. The board shall be established and operated in accordance with this section, and shall authorize to hear evidence from appellants and the fire code official pertaining to the application and intent of this code for the purpose of issuing orders pursuant to these provisions.
Health & Human Services Advisory Council
Purpose: This Council evaluates human services programs in the community, assists in determining the effectiveness of programs, reduces duplication of services and assures the health and human services needs of the residents of St. Johns County are met. The Advisory Council reviews applications requesting county funding for programs that provide health, mental health, substance abuse and social services and submit recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.
Housing Finance Authority
Purpose: Increase the supply of affordable housing opportunities through tax-exempt and taxable bonds and other available program resources.
Industrial Development Authority
Purpose: Created for the purpose of financing and refinancing projects for the public purpose described and in the manner provided by Florida Industrial Development Financing Act to foster economic development within St. Johns County.
LAMP Conservation Board
Purpose: Assist governing bodies participating in the program to acquire and conserve those lands and/or sites that enhance or promote natural communities, green corridors, water resources, outdoor recreation, historic, educational and scientific activities; in addition to identify, review, evaluate and rank those lands to best achieve the goal, while protecting rare, endangered, threatened natural communities of flora and fauna including species of special concern and they explore means of furthering the educational opportunities of conservation lands.
Library Advisory Board
Purpose: To advise the Board of County Commissioners on the establishment, operation and maintenance of free public library service within St. Johns County. The Library Advisory Board plays an integral role in offering advice, ideas, support, and advocacy for the St. Johns County Public Library System.
Mid-Anastasia Design Review Board
Purpose: To protect natural resources, maintain and enhance the diverse and unique character of the Mid-Anastasia Overlay District and achieve specific goals and objective of the St. Johns County Comprehensive Plan. The Design Review Board's primary responsibility is to determine compliance with Part 3.08.00 Mid-Anastasia Overlay District of the St. Johns County Land Development Code, Ordinance 99-51, as amended.
North Coastal Corridor Overlay District Design Review Board
Purpose: To maintain, protect and enhance the diverse and unique character of the North Coastal Corridor and its established beach community, respect the well-documented history of the area and achieve specific goals and objective of the St. Johns County Comprehensive Plan. The Design Review Board's primary responsibility is to determine compliance with Part 3.09.00 North Coastal Overlay District and Part 3.10.00 Vilano Beach Town Center Overlay of the St. Johns County Land Development Code, Ordinance 99-5l, as amended.
Northwest Communications Tower Citizens Advisory Board
Purpose: Review proposals for expenditure of income derived from the lease of Mills Field property.
Planning & Zoning Agency
Purpose: An advisory board and recommending body to the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners on matters relating to zoning of land, amendment of Land Development Regulations, Land Use amendments and Major Modifications to Planned Unit Developments and Planned Rural Developments.
Ponte Vedra Zoning & Adjustment Board
Purpose: Regulate and restrict the height and size of buildings; to regulate and restrict the intensity of land use; to regulate the area of yards, courts and other space about buildings, to classify, regulate and restrict the location of commerce and industries and the location of buildings designed for specified industrial, commercial, residential and other uses within the Ponte Vedra Zoning District.
Recreation Advisory Board
Purpose: To provide new ideas, assist in solving community recreation problems to help ensure leisure time programs and facilities for the residents of St. Johns County. The Recreation Advisory Boards primary responsibility is to serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of County Commissioners.
South Anastasia Design Review Board
Purpose: The purpose of the South Anastasia Design Review Board is to protect and preserve the "Old Florida" style, rural beach community in the South Anastasia Overlay District and achieve specific goals and objective of the St. Johns County Comprehensive Plan. The Design Review Board's primary responsibility is to determine compliance with Part 3.07.00 South Anastasia Overlay of the St. Johns County Land Development Code, Ordinance 99-51, as amended.
Tourist Development Council
Purpose: Recommend funding of facilities, programs, or contracts which are primarily for the purpose of and related to the development, advancement, furtherance, improvement, or promotion of tourism.
West Augustine CRA Nuisance Abatement Board
Purpose: To conduct hearings regarding complaints of public nuisance within the West Augustine Community Revitalization Area (CRA).
